Hydraulic brake pipe (hose) 400mm

Hydraulic brake hose, 400 mm in the name: a sleeve braided from steel wire, with swivelling banjo eyes on crimped ferrules at both ends.

• How we measure the length: in the photo the arrows rest on the ends of the crimped ferrules, not on the edges of the eyes. With the eyes the product is longer, so measure your old hose the same way — from ferrule to ferrule
• The only product in this category on which the diameters can be read is the 1200 mm hose with a black rubber sleeve: there it is printed "Ø7.5mm × Ø3.2mm" — 7.5 mm outside, 3.2 mm inside. Whether the same figures hold for this product, the maker did not mark
• Printed on the braided sleeve is "DOT SAE" — that is a marking, not a particular class of brake fluid; for which fluid to pour in, look at the cap of your master cylinder
• In the photo of this product both end fittings are marked with a red callout "D 10", and the arrows rest on the inside of the eye itself — that is the bolt hole, not the outside of the fitting
• Part of the factory lettering can be seen on the sleeve: "…X7.5MM IN JIAL…" and the year "2015". The first figure before the X cannot be read even enlarged, so we do not copy the inside diameter off this photo
• Every end fitting needs a bolt and two sealing washers — they are in this same category. The bolts differ in thread pitch: M10x1.00 and M10x1.25. In each pitch there is a plain bolt and the same one with a bleed point. Take the plain one if your caliper has a bleed point of its own
• A hose is changed not by any wear figure, but when it swells as you squeeze the lever, when fluid weeps through a ferrule, or when the lever stays soft even after bleeding
• The other end of the hose goes to the caliper; the caliper itself is a separate product, named "Disc brake cylinder (caliper)" in the same category
• Once the hose has been reconnected, the system has to be bled and topped up with fluid — the one named on the cap of your master cylinder; brake fluid is sold separately, in the "Oils & care" category

To be straight with you: the inside diameter of the hose is printed on the sleeve but cannot be read in the photo — we do not guess. Which machine and which years this product is for, the maker did not state, and we do not guess — but matching dimensions is something we can do: write us your model and year. Before ordering, straighten your old hose out and measure it from ferrule to ferrule, and compare the end fittings with the photo — or send a photo: we will check it before you order.
