ATV hand brake master cylinder, marked in the name as the left side. The photo shows 250 mm across the whole assembly and 80 mm in height.

• The 250 mm arrow rests on the threaded outlet on the left and on the lever's ball stud on the right; the 80 mm was measured from the reservoir cap to the bottom of the clamp.
• MOULDED onto the reservoir cap is a warning in two languages: “USE ONLY DOT3 OR DOT4 BRAKE FLUID” and “WARNING”, and beneath them in French “LIQUIDE DE FREIN DOT3 OU DOT4 SEULEMENT”. This is the maker's own moulding, not our conclusion — but read your own cap too before filling it.
• On the left you can see a threaded outlet with a nut — the brake hose screws onto it; it is in a separate category in this shop.
• In the supplier's data for this product, “Thread for cable: M10” was entered, even though there is no cable in a hydraulic system. We state the number but do not assign it a meaning — we are asking the maker.
• The photo shows the reservoir with a round window, the lever, a clamp with two hex bolts, and a separate brake light switch with a spring.
• Do not confuse it with the foot brake master cylinder: that one is pressed with the foot, mounted to the frame, and is a different shape — without a handlebar clamp and without a lever. In this shop they are in a different category — “Brake cylinders, discs, drums”.
