Fuel filter D with a paper element. It traps rust and sediment from the tank so they do not reach the carburettor: clearing clogged jets is harder than changing the filter in time.

• Fits into the fuel hose between the tank and the carburettor; it is worth tightening both ends with clamps
• Length 111 mm, spigots 6 mm – fits a fuel hose with a 6 mm inner diameter
• Transparent body – you see when the element is clogged and do not wait for the engine to start choking
• Paper element – not washable: replace a clogged one with a new one
• When to replace: the engine pulls normally at first, then starts choking after a few kilometres – often the fault is not the carburettor but a clogged filter or tap
