Fuel filter KY-B-028 keeps rust and sediment from the tank out of the carburettor: a clear body with a waisted middle, so you see when it clogs.

  • It goes into the fuel hose between the tank and the carburettor; both ends are worth tightening with hose clips
  • The body is transparent and narrows in the middle — you can see when the element is dirty and you do not have to wait until the engine starts choking
  • When to change it: the engine pulls normally at first and then starts choking after a few kilometres — often the fault is not the carburettor but a blocked filter or fuel tap
