Product information

Rear shock absorber: the supplier's designation gives 360 mm between the axles and a 10 mm spring, while the photo marks: 400 mm for the whole part and 365 mm between the eye centres.

  • We measured the arrow ends: the 400 mm line rests on the outer edges of the eyes, and the 365 mm one exactly on the eye centres. So the number that matters for fitting is 365 mm, not 400 mm
  • The supplier's designation gives 360 mm, the drawing – 365 mm. The maker did not explain the five-millimetre difference, so we show both numbers instead of choosing one
  • Both eye bores are marked the same: Ø 12,2 mm
  • The spring in the photo is black, and the body is two-tone: one side yellow zinc plating, the other black. The eye bushes are light
  • Measure from the centre of one eye to the centre of the other – that is the length the supplier's designation gives. The overall length of the part including the eye edges is always larger; in some photos it is given as a separate number, in others it is missing
  • The second size to match is the eye bore: a bolt thicker than the bore will not go in, and a thinner one will let the eye wobble
  • The spring wire thickness changes the stiffness: thicker wire – a stiffer stroke. If your old spring was thinner, the ride will get stiffer even if the length matches
  • Time to replace it is when oil weeps from the rod, when the spring has sagged, or when a loose eye bush rattles over bumps
  • Shock absorbers of this series sit in the shop in two categories – some in "Chassis & suspension", some in the subcategory "Shock absorbers". If you do not find the right length here, check the other one too

To be straight with you: which eye goes to the frame and which to the lever is not marked in the drawing – both eyes have the same diameter. The maker did not state which specific model and which years this item is for, and we do not guess – but we can compare the dimensions for you: write us your model and year. Before ordering, measure your old shock absorber from eye centre to eye centre, and the eye bore diameter – or send a photo: we will check it before you order.
