Piston with rings, 62,50 mm in diameter. When choosing, the two most important numbers are the cylinder bore and the pin diameter – 15 mm.

• The piston with rings is replaced together with the cylinder or after it is bored: worn out, it loses sealing, compression drops, the cold engine starts rattling and oil consumption rises
• The photo marks: diameter 62,5 mm, crown-to-pin-axis distance 16 mm, overall height 52 mm, pin diameter 15 mm, pin length 50 mm
• The photo shows the set: piston, pin, five rings – one of them a notched expander – and two circlips
• The photo itself carries no scale: no ruler, no object placed for comparison. Only the numbers listed in the captions state the size, so measure your own cylinder bore
• If the piston is still sound but compression is dropping, rings alone may be enough: rings of the same 62,50 mm diameter are a separate item in our range – "Piston rings 4T 62,50mm"
• You will recognise a worn piston by a worn-through side, too large a gap in the rings and impression marks near the pin bore; the rings are always replaced together with the piston
