• The NGK number 5422 — it is printed on the box and is the one to quote when you reorder
• The letter B in the code is a 14 mm thread; the letter R is the interference-suppression resistor
• The number 8 is the heat rating on the NGK scale: a higher number means a colder plug
• The letter E is the 19 mm reach; that is a longer reach than on the BR8HS and BR7HS, which are marked with an H
• The same category also has the BR9ES 5722 — the same 19 mm reach, only the heat number is 9
