Threading die DIN5158 (254), two sizes – G 1/2"x14 and G 5/8"x14: both have the same pitch, 14 threads per inch, and differ in nominal size. Before ordering, measure the workpiece and choose the size.

  • The die cuts an external thread on the end of a rod or tube.
  • G stands for a cylindrical pipe thread, 1/2 and 5/8 are the nominal sizes in inches (they are not equal to the thread's outer diameter), 14 is the number of threads per inch.
  • This card's name and specifications do not carry the mark LH, but the thread direction is not stated separately either; a left-hand G 5/8"x14 thread is covered by another card – “Threading die DIN5158 (252) LH”.
  • The photo is shared with seven more threading-die cards (DIN223 and DIN5158), so we do not judge the shape or the markings from it.
  • The card gives neither the dies' outer diameter, nor their thickness, nor the material.
