Generator windings (stator) YAMAHA JOG, 3KJ for the engine generator — a replacement coil plate in place of a burnt-out one.

• Stator — the stationary part of the generator: the magnet rotates around it, and current is generated in the windings, which charges the battery and powers the ignition
• You will recognise a burnt-out stator by a blackened winding, a smell of burning, a battery that will not charge and a spark that fades as the engine warms up
• Before replacing it, measure the winding resistance and the insulation resistance to earth: often the fault is not the stator but the voltage regulator or oxidised connector contacts
• The name gives no pole count, and the photo has the coils covered — so we do not state it and do not guess it ourselves
• The pole count alone is not enough: the plate diameter, the number of wires and the connector type must also match — compare with your old stator
• The dimensions are marked not on the first photo but on the later ones: plate 104 mm and 118 mm, thickness 32 mm, bores Ø 22 mm, Ø 26 mm and Ø 28 mm — put your old stator beside them and compare
