Generator windings (stator) for the SUZUKI AD50 scooter – a replacement coil plate for a burnt-out one.

• The stator is the stationary part of the generator: a magnet rotates around it, and the windings generate a current that charges the battery and powers the ignition
• You can recognise a burnt-out stator by blackened windings, a burnt smell, a battery that will not charge, and a spark that disappears once the engine gets hot
• The photo marks: sensor bracket – 30 mm, also 36 mm and 47 mm – put your old stator next to it and compare
• The list also has a second SUZUKI AD50 stator – with a 3-wire system; if yours has three wires, get that one
• Before replacing it, measure the winding resistance and the insulation resistance to earth: quite often the fault is not the stator but the voltage regulator or oxidised connector contacts
• The number of poles alone is not enough: the plate diameter, the number of wires and the connector type must all match too – compare with your old stator
