Generator windings (stator) for the PIAGGIO TYPHOON scooter – a coil plate without a housing, fitted in place of the old one.

• The stator is the stationary part of the generator: the magnet spins around it, and a current arises in the windings which charges the battery and feeds the ignition
• You will recognise a burnt stator by blackened windings, a smell of burning, a battery that does not charge and a spark that disappears once the engine heats up
• Before replacing it, measure the winding resistance and the insulation resistance to earth: often the fault is not the stator but the voltage regulator or oxidised connector contacts
• The number of poles is not in the supplier's designation, and in the photo the coils are covered – so we do not state it and do not guess
• The list also has another PIAGGIO stator – 12 poles; if you are not sure which is yours, count the wires of your stator and the connector contacts
• The number of poles alone is not enough: the plate diameter, the number of wires and the connector type must match too – compare with your old stator

To be straight with you: the supplier's word "new" says nothing about the item – what it meant in the supplier's list, we are asking. The supplier did not state which model year and which version it is for, and we do not guess – write us your model and year. Before ordering, measure the diameter of your stator plate and count the wires – or send a photo of the old part: we will check.
