CB250 cylinder with piston for an air-cooled engine. In the box – a cylinder, a piston, a ring set and two gaskets; start with the kit, because the neighbouring CB200 item looks almost the same.

• The kit shows: the cylinder, the piston with a blue dot on the crown, a five-piece ring set, a paper base gasket and a black head gasket. The piston pin and circlips are not in the photo – whether they go in the box is not visible from the data we have
• The body has wide cooling fins, no hose spigot – it is air-cooled, as the name says
• The maker's drawing marks: the upper sleeve's diameter 65,30 mm, the intake flange 42 mm and 29 mm, from the top 61 mm and 57 mm between the stud holes and 65 mm, the piston pin bore 15 mm
• The cylinder bore is not marked in the drawing – 65,30 mm is the sleeve's outer dimension, not the bore, so measure your own bore with a caliper
• Three of this item's four photos are the same files as the neighbouring CB item's – only the one marking the sleeve diameter is its own
• There is also a CB200 cylinder in the catalogue – the only documented difference between them is that sleeve diameter: here 65,30 mm, there 63 mm
• Wear is visible to the naked eye: lengthwise scratches on the cylinder wall, a polished piston skirt, or a ring that wobbles freely in its groove – then the whole assembly is replaced at once
