Front sprocket 428 16T

Front sprocket 428, 16 teeth – the small sprocket on the engine shaft. It turns the fastest of the whole drivetrain and wears out first, so it is replaced together with the chain and the rear sprocket.

• Marking 428 – it must match your chain's marking, otherwise the teeth will not match its pitch
• 16 teeth – the drawing says "16 teeth", "428-16T" is cast into the part
• The chain marking is written out in words on the drawing: "428 chain"
• In one drawing the bore is 18 mm with 34 mm between the retaining holes, in the other – a 17 mm bore with 30 mm between the holes
• The 70 mm outer diameter is marked on the drawing with the 18 mm bore
• Replace all three parts together – on worn teeth a new chain wears out fast and stretches again
• The 428 front sprocket list has 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 teeth; there is also a separate line with a 12 mm axle named in it – the 428 16T axle 12mm is a different product, not a variant of this one
