Rear sprocket 428 40T D37mm

Rear sprocket 428, 40 teeth, D 37 mm — a toothed wheel on the rear hub. The tooth count decides whether you pull away faster or run faster on the straight.

• The 428 marking — it has to be the same as the marking on your chain, otherwise the teeth will not suit its pitch
• 40 teeth — that is how many have been counted on the sprocket itself
• The figure with the letter D in the name is 37 mm. On drawings it does not always mark the same thing: most often the centre bore, sometimes the bolt circle, so measure both sizes on your own sprocket before you order
• Six M8 holes on a Ø 55 mm circle, while on the drawing the 37 mm marks the centre bore
• Bolt thread M8, sprocket thickness 7 mm — both figures are from the maker's drawing
• Change all three parts together — on worn teeth a new chain wears fast and stretches again
