HIFLO HF142 — a cartridge oil filter: only the element is replaced, its socket stays in the engine. The filter traps wear particles and deposits: the filter decides what oil reaches the engine bearings and valve train.

  • HIFLO number HF142 — the filter is selected by it: check your motorcycle's manual or copy the number off the old filter
  • Cartridge type, not screw-on — it has no thread and is not turned with a tool: the element is placed into a socket under a cap
  • Replaced together with the oil, no need to replace it separately
  • The cap's sealing ring (gasket) is replaced at the same time — it usually needs changing at the same moment; whether it is in the package the maker does not state: write to us and we will check before shipping
  • When fitting the new element, make sure it seats all the way in — fitted wrong, it will let unfiltered oil through
