HIFLO HF132 is a cartridge oil filter: only the element is replaced, its housing stays in the engine. The filter holds back the wear particles and the sludge — it decides what oil reaches the engine's bearings and the valve train.

  • The HIFLO number HF132 is what the filter is chosen by: check it in your motorcycle's manual or copy the number off the old filter
  • Cartridge type, not spin-on — it has no thread and is not turned with a wrench: the element is placed into the housing under the cover
  • It is changed together with the oil, there is no need to change it separately
  • The cover's sealing ring (the gasket) is changed at the same time — it usually needs replacing too; whether it is included in the package, the maker does not state: write us, and we will check before we send it
  • When fitting the new element, make sure it seats all the way in — fitted wrong, it will let unfiltered oil through
