Mini bike ignition coil (reel)

Mini bike ignition coil: the photo shows a black moulded body on a steel core with 2 mounting holes, a high-voltage wire with a black spark plug cap, and a separate wire with a terminal in a clear sleeve. Compare the hole spacing with your old coil.

• The ignition coil turns low voltage into voltage strong enough to jump the spark plug gap; when it is worn, the engine starts hard when cold and begins to misfire once hot
• This coil is mounted not through a separate bracket but through the core itself: two cast tabs with holes come out of the stack of steel laminations
• Two wires come out of the body: a thick high-voltage one with a wide black rubber spark plug cap, and a thin one with a flat terminal in a clear insulating sleeve
• The core laminations are visible from the side in the photo – they are stacked together, so the coil sits right against the flywheel, and the gap to it has to be set on installation
• The photo gives neither the dimensions, nor the gap between the hole centres, nor the winding resistance, nor the size of the gap to the flywheel

To be straight with you: which engine and which flywheel this coil fits, the manufacturer did not say, and we do not guess; the part itself also does not give the gap size between the core and the flywheel. Before ordering, measure the distance between the mounting hole centres and the core width on your old coil, and send us a photo of the old part – we will check it before you order.
