Variator belt 835-20

Variator belt 835-20. Both numbers are taken from the name – on the belt itself, in the photo we have, we cannot read anything.

• The variator belt transmits force from the engine to the rear wheel and changes the ratio at the same time: as it slides between the pulley halves it changes the working diameter – so it wears all the time, not only when starting off
• What each number in the name stands for, the maker did not write, and we do not guess – measure your old belt and compare number with number
• There is a print on the side of the belt itself, but in this photo it is not legible, so we do not copy anything from it
• With the same numbers 835-20 the list also has one with a brand – "Variator belt POWERLINK GATES 835-20"; only the maker and packaging differ
• With the same second number 20 there are two more: "Variator belt NARAKU 743-20" and "Variator belt POWERLINK GATES 842-20"
• You will recognise a worn belt by a thinned profile, polished sides, cracked teeth and rubber dust in the variator cover; slipping that starts when climbing a hill is a late sign
• The belt and the rollers are replaced together – a thinned belt and worn rollers give the same lag; the rollers are sold separately, in the "Variator parts" category
