Mini bike carburettor fuel tap (petcock). The tap shuts off the fuel supply. You cannot do without it, whether transporting the machine or putting it away for winter.

  • When to replace it: fuel weeps through the tap, it no longer closes all the way, or, the opposite, fuel no longer flows through it
  • Before a longer stand, it is worth shutting off the fuel and draining what is left in the carburettor – otherwise the carburettor clogs up over winter
  • If the tap has a mesh, it is often that mesh that clogs: the engine pulls normally at first, then after a few kilometres starts to sputter
  • Compare with your own: the thread, the thickness of the hose spigot, and which side the lever is on – that is what the photos are for
