Carburettor VESPA PHBG 21mm TAIWAN

VESPA PHBG carburettor (Taiwan) – 21 mm diffuser. The carburettor's job is to prepare the petrol and air mixture. It decides the starting, the idle and the pull when accelerating.

• Diffuser (bore diameter) 21 mm – must match your old one or what the engine maker specifies
• The supplier marks it as made in Taiwan – that is the place of manufacture, not the maker's name

• Before ordering, compare with your own: the intake flange diameter, the cable and hose positions – that is what the photos are for
• Once the new carburettor is fitted, the idle almost always needs adjusting – there is a separate screw for that

Before replacing the carburettor, check it. Hard starting and uneven idle are not always its fault: the cause is often the spark plug, the ignition, a clogged fuel tap or fuel filter. Checking those is quicker and simpler – start there.
