Carburettor GXT. The carburettor mixes petrol with air: it determines how the engine starts, whether it holds idle, and how it pulls when accelerating.

  • Before ordering, compare with your own: the intake flange diameter, and the positions of the cable and hoses – that is what the photos are for
  • Once a new carburettor is fitted, the idle almost always needs to be readjusted – there is a separate screw for that

The carburettor is not always to blame. If the engine starts hard or does not hold idle, first check the spark plug, the ignition, the fuel tap and the fuel filter – that is quicker and simpler.
