Shock absorber height between axes 270mm spring 7mm axle D12mm

Rear shock absorber, whose photo marks all three dimensions needed for choosing: 270 mm between the eyes, 7 mm spring wire and Ø 12 mm for both eye bores.

• The overall length in the photo is 300 mm, the distance between the eye centres is 270 mm; the second one matters for fitting. The brackets themselves in the photo do not line up quite exactly – by the photo's scale the inner one comes out somewhat longer, so measure your old shock absorber before ordering
• The Ø 12 mm arrows rest on the upper and lower eye, that is their bores. A 10 mm arrow stands separately in the photo
• This is the only card in this line whose name states the eye diameter directly ("axle D12mm")
• The same 270 mm length also belongs to a second card – with a thicker, 8 mm wire. Here the wire is 7 mm, so the ride is softer
• Measure from the centre of one eye to the centre of the other eye – that is exactly the length the name gives. The overall length of the part including the eye edges is always greater; in some photos it is given as a separate number, and in some it is not
• The second dimension that needs to match is the eye bore: a bolt thicker than the bore will not fit in, and a thinner one will let the eye rattle
• The thickness of the spring wire changes the stiffness: a thicker wire means a firmer ride. If the old spring was thinner, the ride will become firmer even if the length matches
• It is time to replace it when oil is weeping from the rod, when the spring has sagged, or when a worn eye bush rattles on bumps
